GameMaker 2 devs can port to Switch

Yes, yesterday's Nintendo Direct event was cool, but the most interesting news came as an aside to the news that Undertale is coming to Switch. That was built using dev toolkit GameMaker 2 from YoYo Games who announced an official export to Switch option. This means plenty of smaller indie coders can bring their great games to the hybrid.

That could mean the likes of Rivals of Aether, Indie Pogo, Hush Blossom,  Hotline Miami, Spelunky, Luftrausers or Nuclear Throne and many more could be coming sooner rather than later. Lots of developers were flooded with questions about ports soon after the announce, so it'll take a while to see what gets officially announced, put on a wish list and so on.

Older games on GM1 might struggle to come across, but it creates an excellent new source of future games and means smaller devs can support the Switch and carry the load in between the mega-Nintendo releases.
